Information about the program

English 4 Students (E4S) is an audio-visual English vocabulary learning program designed to meet the needs of pupils in their junior high school, high school and university studies. It exists in three versions: for speakers of Hebrew, Russian and Arabic.

E4S consists of 3 levels. Level 1 teaches the 1000 most frequent words of English. Level 2 teaches the second most frequent 1000 words of English. Level 3 teaches the third most frequent 1000 words. The vocabulary is taught by means of illustrated stories, combined with translation in the pupil's native tongue. Modern language research shows that vocabulary is the most important factor in success in English. Therefore, E4S provides the basis that every student of English needs.

Each lesson consists of 3 stages – presentation, Practice and review. E4S uses texts by famous author of English learning books, L. A. Hill. E4S also teaches English grammar. This courseware was approved by the Israeli Ministry of Education.

E4S teaches proper pronunciation. The student can see the proper pronunciation by means of phonetic symbols. There is also a voice feature. If the computer is equipped with speakers, the student can hear the words that he is learning.
